Helping You Get to a Better Place in Life

Sometimes life is overwhelming.

Perhaps right now, it's one of those times or maybe it’s been building up for awhile. Most people who start therapy feel unsure how to move forward because it’s all just SO much. Perhaps you can relate. Maybe you don't look forward to much, worried all the time or you feel like you want to escape your life. If you are feeling this way, I can help.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You feel like you lack motivation to do anything.

  • You are feel paralyzed and unsure how to move forward.

  • You feel lonely, even when you are with others.

  • You feel unable to do your day-to-day responsibilities.

  • You feel dread, fear, strange thoughts, and a pounding heart.

If these sound true for you, I want you to know that you're not "crazy." And even though you might feel alone in your struggle, what you are going through is common and it's okay to ask for help. Maybe you're not even sure you want to talk to someone - I get it.

“I just want to be ok”

Overwhelm can be caused by so many sources - grief, trauma, burnout, anxiety, depression, ADHD, illness, relationships, yours or other’s high expectations.

Figuring out the source can be complicated as there can be many sources that contribute over time. My job is to help figure out the sources so we can best address it and release some of the pressure.

I've helped adults struggling with anxiety, traumatic memories, and grief find their way to feeling more calm. Clients have been able to put words to their experience and gain confidence in who they are are their ability to deal with life's stressors.

How Therapy Works

Therapy consists of 55-minute, one-on-one sessions that help you work through your concerns. In addition to listening, I will provide guidance based on my experience and help you feel ok about who you are.

Here’s how it will work:

  1. First, I provide a safe, accepting space so that you will feel comfortable. It can be awkward to make eye contact with a stranger and talk about yourself. I get it! I have lots of fidgets, drawing supplies, and other fun things to help.

  2. Through hearing your story, I will start to get a picture of your challenges. Maybe you don't want to share everything right away, that's ok, you don't have to.

  3. We will work to discover what your goals are for therapy, even if you're unsure right now.

  4. We do a variety of things during a session depending on what would be helpful for you. It could be talking about how our brains work, sharing about how common some of these struggles are or learning practical tools to help manage life.

Research shows that therapy can positively change your thinking, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. It can help you let go of what’s holding you back.
